Product

This notice is about the paid version, "Disc Rescue". The free version, "Disc Rescue Lite", only checks the condition of a disc and whether part of it might be taken out; it cannot take out or save anything.

It is Windows software that tries to take video, sound and file data out of the readable parts of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs. Depending on the scratches and deterioration of the disc, data may not be taken out. We do not guarantee that the video is complete or that it plays. Reading may also make the condition of the disc or the drive worse. For details, see Article 5 of the Terms of Use (Japanese only).

A music CD is saved as one audio file per track. Spots that could not be confirmed are left silent and shown in a list. CDs written with files (CD-ROM, CD-R) are supported, including discs written in several sessions and discs whose writing was never finished. With the paid version, unreadable spots of a music CD may be repaired from an online record (sometimes it cannot repair).

For discs with encryption or copy protection such as AACS, and for copy-controlled CDs (CCCD), the software has no function to remove the encryption or copy protection. Such discs cannot be taken out.

There is no time limit on your right to use the version you bought. Updates and replies to e-mail inquiries are provided while the software is on sale, and for 6 months after sales end. However, we do not guarantee that it will work on future versions of Windows or on future devices.

Price
Launch price JPY 980 (tax included; until January 15, 2027). The planned regular price is JPY 3,950 (tax included). The date of the change has not been decided, and until it is actually sold at that price, it is only planned. When you buy, please check the price shown in the Microsoft Store. Both are one-time purchases. Diagnosis, which checks a disc, can be done with the free diagnosis version. Taking out and saving video is the paid version. The free diagnosis version does not write out any video or samples. The software sets no limit on the number of discs you can save. The number of PCs you can use it on, and what happens when you reinstall, follow the Microsoft Store terms.
Charges other than the price
There is no shipping fee (it is delivered by download). Internet connection charges are paid by the customer. You need a drive that can read CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs, and storage to put the data you take out. If you do not have them, please prepare them separately.
When and how to pay
Please pay on the Microsoft Store screen when you complete the purchase. The payment methods available follow what the Microsoft Store shows.
Delivery
When the purchase is complete, you can get the software from the Microsoft Store. Taking out and saving video can be used after the software is installed and the purchase has been confirmed.
Returns and refunds

Because this is a digital product, we do not, in principle, accept returns or refunds for the customer's own reasons.

However, this does not apply where a refund is allowed under the Microsoft Store terms of sale or the applicable laws.

If you would like a refund, please apply through the procedure set by the Microsoft Store.

Your rights under the law, such as when the product does not match the specifications or supported environment shown at the time of purchase, are not limited by these terms.

System requirements
A PC with Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11. A drive that can read CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs (built into the PC, or connected by USB). Free space equal to the size of the disc is needed where you put the data you take out. Diagnosis and taking out do not need an internet connection. Purchasing, and checking whether you have bought the software, use Microsoft Store features. The internet is used only for these: the comparison with the online record when the paid version saves a music CD (saving works even if it cannot connect; you can turn the comparison off in Settings), fetching data when you decide to repair a music CD, and a problem report that you decide to send yourself.
